Join dancer/choreographer Elizabeth Emond-Stevenson for open contemporary dance classes for all levels and abilities in Orléans.
When: Thursdays July 3, 10, 17, 24 from 5:15 - 6:15 pm
Where: Ottawa School of Theatre in Shenkman Arts Centre
Cost: $100 for 4 week session; $28/drop in class
About the classes
Expand, contract, reach, breathe! Experience the dynamic joy and expression of contemporary dance through this open level adult class which uses principles of Limón technique such as breath, weight, musicality and suspension. We will begin slowly in the centre and progress to moving across the floor and a short combination.
All levels are welcome. Elizabeth will offer variations on exercises for different skill levels.
About Elizabeth
Elizabeth Emond-Stevenson is a franco-ontarian dance artist and educator with over a decade of professional experience. As an educator Elizabeth has worked with dancers, nondancers, youth and elders with and without disabilities across Ottawa and beyond, teaching contemporary, inclusive dance and jazz.
She is a company dancer with Propeller Dance, a member of multidisciplinary disability Ghost Rooster Collective, dances for Ottawa Dance Directive and frequently collaborates with violist Kathryn Patricia Cobbler through Re:Imagine Collective. Under the name TAKE UP SPACE she creates her own work that has been supported by a wide range of organizations and festivals. Elizabeth has toured and performed across the country.
Elizabeth is an alumni of the Quinte Ballet School, The School of Dance, Decidedly Jazz Danceworks’ Professional Training Program and theBanff Centre for the Arts. She has completed teacher training with Dandelion Dance, Propeller Dance, Stopgap Dance (UK), and Limón pedagogy with Donna Krasnow PhD.

The Great Canadian Theatre Company
GCTC is pleased to offer an Artist Pass to remove barriers to attendance for artists and arts workers of any discipline. This pass allows artists to attend any GCTC production, as many times as they wish, subject to availability.
The Artist Pass is valid for 365 days from purchase and includes all GCTC mainstage programming. This means if you purchase part way through the season, your pass will be valid through part of the next one.
The Artist Pass is tied to your email and there is a limit of 1 per person. There are 100 passes available for purchase. Book them now before they are gone!

Go Murder Mystery
We provide murder mystery games all over Canada. As a service to our customers we have a list of potential hosts for hire. Many of our customers want to purchase a game and hire a host to run the game for them.
There is no cost to you to be on our list. We make money by selling our games and you charge the client for your time to host. It is a win win.
If you can work a crowd and love the thought of dressing up and getting paid to have fun then please get in touch. We need hosts all over Canada but particularly in the Ottawa region.

We are an a group of independent artists who have come together to write & produce a low budget television proof of concept that will be filming in January of 2026. The show follows a young group of friends working in a restaurant in downtown Ottawa. We will be casting about 20 characters between the ages of 18-40. We will be holding in person auditions as well as accepting self tapes.

LBMT is looking to cast its upcoming production of Bonnie & Clyde. The musical will be presented from April 16 – 19, 2025 for five performances at Arts Court Theatre. The show is being directed by Mike Sheppard, choreographed by Kristen Loreto, and musically directed by Sabrina Tang. The musical features a cast of 21 roles, playing the 42 named characters in the show. The show has lead roles, principle roles and two ensembles, both featuring a variety of major characters and roles.
Rehearsals for the show will start in January 2025 and will be held at Lost Baggage Musical Theatre (480 Avalon Place). The exact evenings and times of the rehearsals will be scheduled according to the availability of the cast.
Audition slots from 6:30pm-10:00pm. All auditions will be taking place at Lost Baggage Musical Theatre (480 Avalon Place). Each auditioner will be assigned a 15 minute time slot with the hour. If you are not available the audition dates but would like to still audition, please select “Not Available/Video Audition” on the audition form. We will contact you to make alternate arrangements for a video audition.
Please prepare 32 bars (one-two minutes) of a musical theatre song that fits the style of the show and best demonstrates your vocal abilities. Please come prepared with sheet music so our pianist will be able to provide you with piano accompaniment. Please be ready to not just sing the song, but to perform it!
Participation in an individual dance/movement segment at the end of the audition slot will be required for all those auditioning. Please come wearing dance appropriate clothing, as you will not be able to change at the audition.
A session of callback auditions will be held on Saturday November 8.
